WHO WE ARE

Indian Coffee House is a restaurant chain in India operated by a series of worker cooperatives. It has a strong presence across India with around 500 coffee houses. It has been the center of communist and socialist movements for generations. Thus it has played a very important role in the politics of India.

India Coffee Board Workers Co-operative Society Limited No.4227, Thrissur: Incorporated on 10 February 1958. The first Indian coffee house was opened on March 8, 1958 in Thrissur. This was also the fourth ICH in the country. The society has more than fifty branches in Thrissur, Ernakulam, Idukki, Kottayam, Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Kollam and Thiruvananthapuram. 

FOUNDER

Ayillyath Kuttiari Gopalan (1 October 1904 – 22 March 1977), popularly known as A. K. Gopalan or AKG, was an Indian communist politician. He was one of 16 Communist Party of India members elected to the first Lok Sabha in 1952.
